I guess this is going to be weekly, at least for now. I’m sure there will be some weeks that I don’t feel like doing it or there isn’t much out there I want to see, but the latter would actually be hard to accomplish, even if it’s only a few matches.

Anyway, here we are!

  • Marigold (5/20): Giulia & Utami Hayashshita vs Sareee & Bozilla

  • Wrestling Open (5/23): Allie Katch vs Notorious Mimi

  • AIW (5/24): Josh Prohibition vs Matt Cross

  • GCW (5/25): Megan Bayne vs Allie Katch

  • TWE Chattanooga (5/25): Darian Bengston vs Tank vs Brett Ison

Sareee & Bozilla vs Giulia & Utami Hayashshita
Marigold Fields Forever
May 20, 2024 - Tokyo, Japan

The main event match from the first show of Rossy Ogawa’s new promotion. Bozilla, if you’re unawares, is the 20-year-old daughter of Ulf Hermann, which I think is just terrific that Ulf Hermann’s daughter is here headlining the inaugural show of an ambitious new company at Korakuen Hall.

Sareee comes in aiming to humiliate Marigold and Rossy Ogawa. A fine goal in life. Giulia and Sareee do a perfunctory introduction bit and then we get tags to the powerhouses. Bozilla is a BEAST. Cool thing about being a monster is that when you sort of haven’t gotten timing down you can excuse that with, like, “I’m a big monster, actually. I simply don’t react the way most wrestlers do.”

Bozilla drops an elbow like it’s the first time she’s ever gone through with doing so. If you want to get honest you have to give Utami in particular credit for being incredibly giving with Bozilla’s offense, some of which is fine, some of which is a little hesitant or unsure of itself. She’s very young and still learning, obviously, and this is tons bigger than whatever her previous biggest career match was, too. When you factor it all in, she really does a fantastic job.
