I don’t think I need to express any great reason to want to watch a bunch of Steiner Brothers matches, but let’s say it’s something to do with Bron Breakker. Sure, that’ll do.

In this set:

  • vs Ole & Arn Anderson (NWA WrestleWar, 1990)

  • vs Steve Williams & Terry Gordy (WCW Worldwide, 1992)

  • vs Hellraisers (NJPW Fantastic Story in Tokyo Dome, 1993)

  • vs Money Inc (WWF SummerSlam Spectacular, 1993)

  • vs Fire & Ice (WCW Saturday Night, 1996)

  • vs Mortis & Wrath (WCW Saturday Night, 1997)

Steiner Brothers vs Ole & Arn Anderson

NWA WrestleWar
February 25, 1990 - Greensboro, NC

  • Steiners hold the world tag team titles and are dedicating this match to their good friend Sting, saying they’re “big, bad, bully-beater-uppers.” Well, Rick said that. Rick was the imbecile, see, and his brother Scott was relatively sane. The Andersons had played a key role in putting Sting on the shelf (because of Sting’s legitimate injury).

  • Along with being stupid, however, Rick is utterly fearless; he even truly relishes the chance to get in there and give the Andersons the business, no matter their reputation. Jim Ross says he’s never called a match between two sets of brothers before, and I have good news for him, it’s still something to look forward to in the future! Ross is on the call with Terry Funk, who talks about his own history in a brother tag team.

  • Scott starts legally but it’s Rick, dragging Arn out to the floor, who really gets in the first shot, and the Steiners really are starting like they’re here for Sting’s Revenge. But as Ross notes quickly, that level of emotion might cause them to lose focus and overplay their hand, because the Andersons are cool professionals, calm under pressure, and they’ve been in there with every badass, fired up tag team there’s been for a long time now.

  • You know, Ole Anderson in this match is just barely older than CM Punk is right now.
