Live from Tampa! It’s on NBC and Peacock! What a world! Listen to that Nostalgic Music! It’s Nostalgic!
We’ve got Joe Tessitore and Jesse Ventura up at the host desk, and Ventura still cares enough to make it sound like he actually watches these shows. He doesn’t know why anyone would accept a cage match. Ventura then confuses Logan and Jake Paul.
Michael Cole and Pat McAfee are calling the matches and McAfee wants me to remember “the Thunderdome” fondly. I will not.
CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker
Babyfaces rush in there with the heels waiting, and it’s a fight from the jump, with Punk pairing off with Breakker, he seems to enjoy that. Zayn gets isolated pretty early on account of being a loser, but that leads to a Punk hot tag from 1988, look at him go!
Zayn and Breakker do some nice work together, this is really a very basic tag match given some lift by the fact that it’s four stars and, as a full combination, a fresh matchup.
And then we get the return of Bronson Reed! He drives Punk through the barricade at ringside, leading to Breakker spearing Zayn for the win. ***¼
