It’s another NXT PLE from Minneapolis, which is also where Smackdown was held!
This one’s at the Armory, though, which is a fantastic smaller venue.
We’re going to have “Iron Survivor” matches for him and her! Those have penalty boxes, for when Superstars lose a fall! They last 25 minutes! Why 25 and not 20 or 30? I don’t know!!
Earlier today: A child rode a roller coaster at the mall! Ethan Page arrived! Stephanie Vaquer arrived! Trick Williams solemnly took in a Prince mural and nodded at it! When he wins tonight, you can thank Prince for inspiring him!
Note: Eddy Thorpe has been removed from the men’s Iron Survivor because he was attacked by Ava’s angry, dopey dad, or someone hired by him. I am assuming here, of course. But that’s my job. No it isn’t. But.
Booker T claims that it’s 10 degrees outside. It’s 41 in Minneapolis. It’s unseasonably warm in the upper midwest today. And 10 would be unseasonably cold, by the way.
Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge
We’re starting with Wes Lee vs Je’Von Evans. Vic Joseph claims that last Tuesday, X-Pac gave Je’Von Evans a “pep talk,” which I guess is one way to remember that promo. We’re starting with obvious fake crowd noise at low volume to provide the good low hum you like to have.
Evans trying to get a quick early fall, not working and Lee tries to get one, too. Also not working! Alright then. They’re really having some problems making the level of fake crowd noise they’re using not stand out.
Lots of near falls. Nothing else, really. The worst “send to the ropes” I’ve ever seen at one point. They keep fucking things up, this is really not good. Evans rocky enough so far that Booker T has to acknowledge “the nervous jitters,” even.
Lee gets a fall just before the five-minute limit is up, so Evans goes to the box for 90 seconds right as Nathan Frazer enters. Evans returns before anyone can do anything and he does a dive oh baby.
