Review: TNA Bound For Glory 2024

Bound For Glory was live on Oct. 26, 2024, from Detroit’s Wayne State Fieldhouse!

Lots of chatter out there about the booking of one match in particular on this show, and I’ve got thoughts on that that I’ll get to later. This review is a little something extra for you dedicated and wonderful premium subscribers, I thank you as always and let’s get going!

Mike Bailey (c) vs El Hijo del Vikingo

TNA X Division Championship

Vikingo was out about seven months but returned in late September, and this is his first TNA match since January. The Wayne State Fieldhouse reminds me of nice ROH prime years buildings. This is the size and sort of venue that can be really great for wrestling. When the Vaudevillain says this is “the hottest ticket in town” I do wonder if he understands that the Detroit Lions are probably slightly hotter in Detroit than TNA wrestling.

Vikingo teases reinjuring his knee early. Might have tweaked it! Some of the fans chant “this is awesome” before anything remotely interesting happens. Out to the floor and Vikingo hits a little rana off the guardrail. Bailey follows with a springboard twisting moonsault press. Bailey clutching his ribs, but getting back at it. Shooting star sees him land on his feet then race over for a “Green Tea Plunge” that gets two.

Bailey is an interesting guy for me and my tastes or whatever, because I always kinda think I’m not a big fan, and if I watch too many matches of his in a short period of time they just get too Epic Bacon Same-y, but if I see him every now and then I always get into his match.
