Review: AEW Redemption 2026
I have not had time to keep up with AEW TV lately, though I’m hoping that will change! The weekly TV is the stuff I’ve always considered first to go if I’m in time crunches for this newsletter/blog, because, well, I give those away free when I have the time.
BUT! We’re back in action for Redemption! Didn’t do the pre-show stuff, and am mostly just Aware Of Stories at the moment, in that I’ve been keeping up but again, just have not been able to watch. But one of the beautiful things about pro wrestling is it’s pretty easy to hop in or hop back in at any point. SO HERE WE GO!

Mike Bailey vs Nick Wayne vs The Beast Mortos vs El Clon vs Komander vs Jack Perry
A six-way ladder match for No. 1 contendership to the International title. Alright! Sure! I have been tired of scrambles and ladder scrambles since about 2012 but I recognize the wider appeal that goes beyond me. A wrestling show booked for my tastes only wouldn’t even do TNA numbers.
I promise I’ll get more positive as this show goes along. Well, I don’t promise, but it’s very likely. It’s not even “the action” that pulls me away here, it’s the scramble aspect(s). But I do promise I did not return to Modern Wrestling writing with a new, super negative gimmick.
Exciting spots and all that. Action for the sake of action and that’s where I lose attention really easily. And it’s the match’s makeup, too; it doesn’t stop, it doesn’t build, it is a dance that means nothing.
Mortos about breaks his ass on a ladder he lands on oddly, Clon stomps Speedball through a table. Komander has an open chance to go climb for the contract but instead decides to show everyone he can run on the top rope, as he is perhaps a fucking idiot.
Big standing ovation after enough things happen. They would like Quebecois Bailey to win but he also has to show how he can do something, and it comes at the expense of Beast Mortos. Then he climbs, and he wins it.
